Yaah……I changed the home page on you guys without any warning. Actually the ‘I need to go white’ bug hit me last evening. Ever since I’ve been a possessed person with only one mission. I’m pushing the Window Shopping series till next time to reveal the new look.
Here it is folks, the new header. Need to polish it a little bit more. How’s it? Or do you like the old one better? To refresh your memory, this is what we had earlier;
As the list of projects started getting longer I’ve been wanting to update the ‘How To’ page too. Go ahead check it out and let me know what you think. Here’s a preview;
I also want to highlight a few milestones that we’ve had on WUHS! Oct 3rd was our 200th post! Yay! Can’t get enough of blogging! Here’s to many more!
My stenciled throw pillow is on Craftgawker!!!! Found out about the site two days ago. It is basically a humongous picture database of craft projects. If you haven’t checked it out then you must ASAP. They have very strict standards about picture quality and approve only great pics. So I’m super psyched. Wohoo!
The Drop cloth Zebra Rug was featured on Inspire Me Heather‘s animal prints post! Thank you Heather!
Radhika from Imprints Handmade featured the tea cup planter rescue project on her blog. Thank U!
The movie reels in the gallery wall was featured on the Old Lucketts store blog in their ‘Where did they end up’ post.
And then on FB, with the recent influx of likes we are at 445! A big thank you and welcome to each and everyone of you!
Have a great weekend! And don’t forget to let me know your feedback.

Nice… Love the sofa and the namaste pillow is just so appropriate for anyone visiting WUHS. Just wondering if too many of those elements (Logo, Planter, rug) are creating an imbalance in the header.
Congratulations on your 200th post. That is indeed quite a feat. Am ever surprised as to how you really manage one post every day. Great going.
Cheers.

Thank you Somu. You always confirm the doubts that I have about the header. Was thinking it was busy too but wanted to show the logo and the essence of the blog. I’ve changed it now to a cleaner look. I think I might have nailed this time around. Do let me know.

Hi Vidya, This is great… Just one thing though:
First Class mail – The image is not very clear… and I do not get its relevance to the theme of your blog… Maybe I am missing something.

Thanks Somu. That is how the first class mail image was. I think the first class mail seal is meant to be a little unclear like the postage seals on real envelopes. It symbolizes our cross continental background and decor style.

Love that namaste pillow. Your style is so unique, not overly ethnic and not too modern. Just a perfect balance of the two.

Thank you Aaroohii. Your words describe me to the T. In the blog world it is both a blessing and a curse. I was actually planning to write a post about it. There have been so many days were I feel disappointed that I don’t belong in each of the sets of bloggers. I think there are are 3 sets of home decor bloggers in my realm, each and every one of them very talented; the southern bloggers, the non southern US + other countries bloggers, Desi bloggers. I like a little bit of everything. Sometimes it is very frustrating when I can’t fit into those definitions, which I’ve come to realize is key to blogger networking. I’m hoping that there are more readers like you who can identify with me. Thanks again for all the support.
