Hope y’all had a great weekend. With a late season Nor’easter looming over us why waste time on small talk? Let’s just kick off the Ringing in Spring 2014 Home Tour and pretend that Spring is here in full swing!
As always my theme is “use what you have”. The trick to accomplish this when decorating for seasons is to move things around. The accent colors in our living room is yellow and blue now thanks to “borrowing” a few accessories (the felt circle pillow and the yellow vase) from the guest room. The forsythia in vintage soda bottles and a vintage sawbuck game board that I scored on my antiquing trip to Purcellville add the touch of yellow to the Spring mantel.
A close up of the game board and the bird bookend that switched places from the floating shelves.
On the coffee table is my watercolor eggs nest.
In the breakfast nook, my fabrics scraps wreath and bunny chalkboard silhouette add a touch of Spring. You might remember the demijohn and the Victorian lady vase from earlier posts.
It looks like I won the kiddos over with the bunny silhouette. They insisted that I add in a close up of the bunny in the post! 🙂
Our foyer niche gets into the Easter spirit with Sharpie doodle eggs on snake plant stems.
Even our deer is sporting a felt rose on his mini boxwood wreath!
More Easter eggs on our living room side table.
Wondering where my burlap wreath went? It stands alone guarding our badly in need of Spring color porch! I looked at every store in the area, none of them had any plants, not even pansies!
Every time I take pictures of our front door I make a note to myself that the door badly needs a fresh coat of paint. Adding it to the “Must Do” section of our “To Do” list for the year.
Hope you enjoyed the touches of Spring in our home. Don’t forget to check out the other bloggers showcasing their homes today and for the rest of the week.

Beautiful! I am in love with your deer head and that gorgeous subway art-love your pops of color!
Vidya Sukumaran says
Thanks Melissa. The subway art was a clearance find from Micheals. We debated for a while if we really wanted it but in the end loved how it looked in that niche.
Meera says
Love the yellow touches. Perfect for spring! I have game board envy now, that’s a great find.
Vidya Sukumaran says
Thanks Meera. Love the game board too but think I might have to do something to preserve it. It was wrapped in clear plastic all this while. When I removed the wrap the other day, it looks the paint on the side is chipping pretty bad. Might have to use a sealer or something.
