As you guys have already seen from my earlier post our trip to the Ladew Botanical Gardens, MD was both a treat for all the senses. With its eye catching landscaping, topiaries, ponds, gazebos, flora and fauna it is a a must see place. I had a hard time trying to shortlist around 20 pictures from the 200+ pics that we took of the trip. So here’s another pic heavy post for ya.
The Great Bowl or the oval pool in the center of the compound with the house and the topiaries in the background.
The Croquet Court
A peek of the Sculpture Garden;
A view of the sculpture garden from the other end.
The Temple of Venus,
The Iris Garden where all the irises had finished blooming.
The other side of the Iris Garden.
The Wildflower Meadow behind the house could be termed as the most peaceful spot in the botanical garden.
The benches on the grounds next to the wildflower meadow provide a great spot to take a moment to savor in the breathtaking view.
The ponds in the garden are teeming not only with wild life (yes we saw numerous koi, frogs, turtles) but also plenty of water plants like these pretty water lilies.
We spotted irises, lotuses, and of course many a water lily. Wish my water lilies grew this big!
