Lately I have been on the look out for some pretty knobs and wall hooks for a project in my daughter’s room. An on the fly decision to change the boob light in her room to a crystal chandelier messed up my plans of not touching her room for another couple of years. You see, I was waiting for the tween years to set in and then change things up. I guess these days they start behaving like a tween at 9 or does that happen at just ours? Anyways in no time she was drawing up plans to rearrange the furniture, paint, switch out the accent colors, add wall art etc. Have I told you she is a budding interior decorator? 🙂 All I could think of was, “What did I get myself into?” Seeing her enthusiasm and eagerness to get rid of what she now refers to as small girl stuff I promised her that I will think about it. After a few more rounds of heated discussions we agreed that we would go for a low cost makeover that would be versatile enough to change with her tastes (she assured me that they will most likely change soon!!!! 😛 ) and one that will utilize what we already had so we could keep costs down. Will spill the beans on the plan and such later on but for now let’s go knobs and wall hooks shopping.
In the ideal world where money is never an issue I would have gone for all Anthropologie knobs/ hooks. They have a way of creating the most daintiest yet cutest knobs and hooks ever! Don’t their hardware look like fine jewelry?
Crowned Quartz Knob Byzantine Knob Peacock Plumes Knob Stonecutter Knob Netherbury Knob Swirled Geode Knob Framed Stitchery HookAnother close contender would have been Urban Outfitters. Their look is more rustic though yet clean and simple. Did I mention, we need knobs and hooks in all styles and colors? Yeah, we are shooting for an eclectic look. 🙂
Locust Whale Tail Hook Beaded Mother of Pearl Hook Branch Hook Jewel Knob Mermaid Hook Octopus HookComing back to the real world, keeping our tight budget in mind a better option might be World Market. The best part about them is that most of the hardware comes in pairs or threes.
Ceramic Owl Knob Green Glass Knobs Antique Brass Bird Knobs Turquoise Painted Wooden Knobs Mom’s Soup Can Hooks Small Heart HooksAn even better option seems to be Hobby Lobby. They had the widest variety of all at the most sensible prices.
Multi Color Scalloped Ceramic Knob Red Drink Coca-Cola Bottle Cap Pull Multi Color Bella Moda Ceramic Flared Knob Distressed White Metal Seahorse Knob Cast Iron Mermaid Hook Stone Look Ceramic Scallop Knob Black Metal Mustache KnobHad to add in a mustache hook in there ‘coz my girl is mustache crazy. Seriously crazy is not the work, she is all about mustaches. The other day we were at a birthday party and all the kids were getting their faces painted. While all the girls were getting butterflies and fairies painted my sassy monkey went and got a mustache! Seriously not even the boys had thought of doing that till they saw her! So I can assure you 100% that we’ll be getting that one. Actually I shouldn’t be saying much as my phone cover is mustaches. 😉
Are your kids mustache crazy too? Where do you buy knobs and wall hooks? Any guesses as to what we are up to?

That’s what I have heard too Sree. We have only one Hobby Lobby locally which is quite a bit of a trek for us. Eveytime I’m in those parts it is a Sunday!

Hi Vidya, Speaking of knobs, I recently went decorative knobs shopping at World market. I loved their collection. In fact, you’ve featured one of the knobs that I picked up for my latest project :). Chk it out @ http://theexperimentalbakerhomemaker.wordpress.com/2014/11/03/that-little-corner-where-god-resides/
