Today we have another WUHS reader, Jina sharing her beautiful holiday mantel and tree with us. Jina who is also happens to be a friend of mine has caught the DIY bug off late and DIY’d most of the decor on her Mantel.
That wreath! Yes, she DIY’d it. It is called the Bubble Burlap Wreath. She bought the Burlap fabric, cut it into squares, made individual bubbles, and pinned to a wreath form.
Oh yes, I’m gonna shamelessly copy this one for Spring. It is so so pretty!
And those pine cone trees, she made those too herself.
Hot gluing each of those pine cone petals (is that what they are called?) would have been a hard one but the end result is totally worth it, don’t you think?
Here’s the nativity scene her husband and kids put together. Nice and cute. We call it the crib in part of the world that I come from and every Christian home used to have one during Christmas. Remember all my neighborhood friends setting these up with their families at the start of Christmas season.
An overhead shot of her family room from the stairs.
Do you make nativity scenes for Christmas? How do you set it up?

Aww, thank you Vidya! That’s so sweet of you to share my first-time attempts at DIY’ing on WHUS! Like I’ve mentioned before, you are a big part of the inspiration that got me – a confirmed bookworm and science geek who never thought I had an artistic bone in me – to try my hand at crafting/DIY’ing. 🙂
