I don’t know about you but I’m so done with winter this year. Frankly it hasn’t been that bad. Still the last 2 weeks have been brutal especially since we just came back from India where it was in the 80’s F. Or maybe the last two mild winters have spoiled me rotten. Either way all I know is I’m not cut out for the cold weather. So here is something to cheer me up.

Whats Ur Home Story: Simple floral arrangements

Those of you who follow me on Facebook might have seen these beauties before. They were a hostess gift from my wonderful cousins. We enjoyed them in a large vase for a week (sorry forgot to take pics) and then I cut the stems down to fit in this jug. By doing so I got one more week from them. Aren’t they beautiful?

My favorite pick me up flower is the daisy mum. A $5 grocery store bouquet can last quite a few weeks. All you need is to keep trimming the stem. I always fill up a small glass bowl (left over from the individual Tiramasu serving) with them. They add such a big punch of color on the living room tray.

Back in summer my daughter returned home after a trip to the play ground with this flower. Don’t know the name but all it took to jazz it up was a wine glass, some hydrangea leaves, and vinca vine.

The glass was the only one left out of a set of four. This one too bit the dust within days of taking this pic. Here is another shot.

Do you also give yourself a flower fix once in a while?

  3. I loved this post.. new here from your fb page….and enjoying your garden/flowers post. Sadly, here in Dubai, while everything is available, it is firghtfuly expensive since most flowers are imported. Ofcourse, there are some desert varities we do grow-petunias, impatiens, marigold, winca, certain varities of roses becuase winters are gorgeous here…which is when we plant most of our local flowers. Succulents ofcourse grow easily. Which I personaly love, but you know it is very very rare I buy flowers-simply too expensive, 50USD for a boquet of 4 roses and one lily stalk to give you an idea!! I wouldnt buy it even if I can afford them! Yesterday i pulled in to a gas station and thought of buying some flowers, ran as soon as i heard the price! loll. Im enjoying your house pics, your love for greens…so pretty! I recently started blogging too, a combination of cooking and home decor-things I enjoy the most. Will be back for more…so much to see! :
    ps- love the blog name!
