Fabric Scraps Christmas Ornament

Can’t believe it is already Day 10 of our 12 Days of Christmas series! Have y’all been enjoying the daily list of handmade Christmas ornaments? I for sure have, discovered so many new ideas that I want to try out next year. The common factor in all of these ornaments is that they are very easy to make. Totally goes to prove that handmade doesn’t have to be hard. Today I have another easy project for ya, Fabric Scraps Ornament. Yeah, you read that right Fabric Scraps. You know me, I don’t like anything to go to waste. Remember my Fabric Scraps Wreath? A few of the same scraps made it to this one too, the Chevron print from my chair makeover and the Green fish scale fabric from the cane chair makeover. 🙂

 Clear Ornament
Fabric Scraps
Mod Podge – though the picture shows the regular one I ended up using the Glitter Modge.
Paint Brush

Method

  • Cut the fabric into long strips half an inch wide.
  • Working in sections brush Mod Podge onto the clear ornament.
  • Place fabric strip over the glue and apply more Mod Podge over the strip.

  • Work your way around the ornament making sure every spot soaks in the Mod Podge evenly smoothing out any air bubbles in the process.
  • Hang the ornament to dry. My preferred method is to use a pipe cleaner and hang it from our dining room chandelier.

Because of all that Mod Podge it does take some time to dry but when it does…………..
